Irwin joined USVP in 1990 as a general partner with significant investment experience: as CEO of Monolithic Memories, he led his firm's investments in successful startups such as Cypress Semiconductor, Xilinx and Altera. During his tenure as CEO from 1978 to 1987, Irwin spearheaded MMI's turnaround from virtual bankruptcy to a $250 million revenue organization. When MMI merged with Advanced Micro Devices, Irwin assumed the post of Vice Chairman of AMD. Irwin was also two-term Chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association, has served on the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association and served two terms on the Dean's Advisory Board of Santa Clara University. Irwin was a founding or lead investor in Blue Martini, CheckPoint Software Technologies, Centillium Communications, Crescendo Communications, MMC Networks, NeoMagic, Netro, Nuance Communications, Quick Logic, SanDisk and TelCom Semiconductor. He has led USVP's investments in BeVocal, On24 and Mellanox, among many others. Irwin received a B.S. in Economics from Brooklyn College and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering Science from Santa Clara University. A recipient of the Anti-Defamation League's Torch of Liberty, Irwin is involved with a number of community organizations in San Francisco and on the Peninsula.
C. Mikael Berner

As President & CEO of BeVocal, Mikael Berner is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the company as well as for managing its day-to-day operations. Since co-founding BeVocal, Mikael has established and built its engineering, network operations, legal and professional services organizations. Mikael is one of the leaders driving innovation in the enhanced voice services industry and has extensive experience in developing voice communications solutions for telecom service providers. He gained this experience while working as the Software Applications Manager at ZSP Corporation and as a System Architect at Panasonic in Osaka where he developed the systems for PHS - a Japanese digital wireless system. PHS was one of the most successful electronic consumer products in history growing to over 1 million units sold just 6 months after launch. Mikael received his master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University where he specialized in DSP algorithms. He also earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Yogen Dalal

Yogen is a Managing Director at Mayfield Fund and specializes in early-stage investments in the enterprise software and infrastructure arenas. He is currently on the boards of BeVocal, Entrepreneurs Foundation, Narus, Nuasis, Outerbay, Packet Design, PacketHop, Perfect Commerce, Podbridge, PostX and Revenue Service. Some of Yogen’s past portfolio company successes include Arbor Software, Vantive, Nuance, BroadVision, Tibco and Packet Engines. Prior to joining Mayfield, he was a founding member of two successful start-ups, Claris Corporation and Metaphor Computer Systems. Yogen was selected by Forbes Magazine as one of the Midas Top 100 Technology Professionals. He was also a member of the original Star and Ethernet development teams at Xerox PARC and helped design TCP/IP while at Stanford University.
Jerry Gramaglia

Jerry Gramaglia is a Partner with ArrowPath and has been actively involved with the firm since its inception. Jerry brings significant marketing and operational expertise from a wide-range of industries. Jerry currently serves on the Board, or is a Board Observer, of BeVocal, BlueRoads, Groople, Innotas and Umbria. Jerry also serves on the Board (as an Independent director) of Coldwater Creek and WageWorks. Prior to ArrowPath, Jerry was President and COO of E*TRADE Financial, where he was instrumental in building E*TRADE's global customer base and brand. During his leadership, E*TRADE expanded beyond on-line trading into banking, lending and advice, profitably generating annual revenues over $1.0 billion. Jerry began his career at Procter & Gamble and subsequently held marketing and general management positions at Nestle, PepsiCo and Sprint. Jerry received his B.A. in Economics from Denison University.
Martin A. Kaplan

Marty has as served as the Chairman of the Board of JDSU since May 2000. From May 1998 until his retirement in May 2000 after 40 years in the technology industry, Marty was Executive Vice President of Pacific Telesis, responsible for integration following the merger of SBC Communications, Inc. and Pacific Telesis Group, followed by the same role for other SBC mergers. From 1986 to 1997, he was Executive Vice President of Pacific Bell and President of Network Services. Marty is also a Director of Tekelec, Superconductor Technologies and Redback Networks.
Charles Corfield

Charles founded SandCherry and currently serves as its President & CEO. He has held key positions with many successful high-tech startups, including serving as cofounder and chief technology officer of Frame Technology, which was acquired by Adobe. He currently sits on the board of directors of three technology companies for which he also served as an early investor: iBasis (IBAS), the world's largest Cisco powered international IP telephone network; Liberate Technologies (LBRT), the nation's leading set top box technology company; and BeVocal, a leading provider of hosted customer self-service solutions.
